Antonia Thies

Antonia Thies is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Political Science and Research Centre for Islam and Law in Europe (EZIRE) at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. Her research interests include stability and transformation of political systems, political concepts of order, socio-political norm formation, and legitimation as well as the Gulf States’ international relations. She obtained her PhD in the DFG Research Training Group ‘The Sentimental in Literature, Culture and Politics’, focusing on identity constructions, affect studies and politics of emotions in Gulf monarchies.
